The penalty was imposed by the European Union on March 4, 2024, for breaching the law that Apple had restricted music streaming services from informing users of cheaper payment options outside of its App Store, giving an unfair advantage of its services.

The European Commission began investigating the issue in 2019 after Spotify, the largest music streaming app in the world, filed a complaint against Apple, alleging anti-competitive behaviour and a dominant position in the market for the distribution of music streaming apps. During this probe, Spotify, the company based in Stockholm, Sweden, has met with the European Commission over 65 times.

“My revenge is called love, my shield forgiveness, my armor mercy. I will not dwell on obstacles, nor will I be frightened by the darkness,” says Felice Palamara to Corriere della Sera who narrowly escaped from a bleach mixed with water and wine used in the mass in a suspected mafia-related attempt at intimidation.

Felice Palamara is serving as the parish priest of San Nicola of Pannaconi Church in Cessaniti, in the southern Italian region of Calabria. He told the police that on the evening of February 24, during a Sunday vigil Mass, he noticed a strange odor coming from a chalice in which he had placed the consecrated water and wine. This led him to suspend the liturgy, according to Crux.

A Hindu nationalist group has sued an Indian zoo for naming two of its lions after a Muslim ruler and a Hindu goddess. The court has requested that the names of the lions be changed.

The North Bengal Wild Animals Park in Siliguri district, West Bengal, is home to these majestic lions. The naming dilemma started when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a right-wing Hindu organization, raised an issue and filed a court petition on 16th Friday to stop the zoo administration from keeping the lions named after “Sita,” the revered Hindu goddess, who is the consort of Lord Rama, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, and the lion named after “Akbar,” the 16th-century Mughal empire over most of the Indian subcontinent.
