A recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center has revealed a significant increase in polarization among U.S. Catholics regarding their opinions on Pope Francis, highlighting a growing divide within the community. The findings shed light on divergent viewpoints among Catholic Democrats and Republicans, particularly concerning social and theological issues.

According to the survey, while a substantial majority of U.S. Catholics still hold a favourable view of Pope Francis, partisan affiliations strongly shape these perceptions. Approximately 75% of all U.S. Catholics maintain a positive outlook toward the pontiff. However, when examined through a political lens, a stark contrast emerges nearly 89% of Catholic Democrats or those leaning Democratic express favourable views, compared to just under 63% of Catholic Republicans or Republican-leaning individuals. Significantly, the favourability ratings among Republican-leaning Catholics have experienced a decline, marking the largest partisan gap in approval of Pope Francis since the beginning of his papacy.

She described how the predators, operating under the guise of friendship and affection, manipulated her daughter into inflicting self-harm and performing grotesque acts, including carving their screen names into her thigh and beheading a pet hamster, all while being watched in an online chatroom.

The European Commission began investigating the issue in 2019 after Spotify, the largest music streaming app in the world, filed a complaint against Apple, alleging anti-competitive behaviour and a dominant position in the market for the distribution of music streaming apps. During this probe, Spotify, the company based in Stockholm, Sweden, has met with the European Commission over 65 times.

Even Twitter and Facebook continue to dominate conversations about social media and the 2024 presidential election in America, Tiktok is quietly becoming a political force. Nathan Roth on Linkedln, said: “TikTok is becoming teens” go-to political news source.

Very obvious, in America to see some of the teens: who are too young to vote are forming political coalitions on TikTok to campaign for their chosen candidates, post news updates and fact check opponents. They are sharing real-time commentary for an audience that is far more likely to watch YouTube videos than turn a cable news channel.
