The openAI’s demo release of ChatGPT on November 30, 2022 threw the tech industry into a frenzy. Companies like Microsoft and Google have thrown tremendous resources at AI to try to catch up, and venture capital (VC’s) rushing to fund companies doing the same.

Recently, New York Times article says “the boom in AI has even sparked businesses, government agencies and universities to create what has become the hottest new role in corporate America and beyond: the senior executive in charge of AI.”

Even Twitter and Facebook continue to dominate conversations about social media and the 2024 presidential election in America, Tiktok is quietly becoming a political force. Nathan Roth on Linkedln, said: “TikTok is becoming teens” go-to political news source.

Very obvious, in America to see some of the teens: who are too young to vote are forming political coalitions on TikTok to campaign for their chosen candidates, post news updates and fact check opponents. They are sharing real-time commentary for an audience that is far more likely to watch YouTube videos than turn a cable news channel.

The executives from leading national publishers have called on the U.S Government to take immediate action to protect the industry from copyright infringement by AI industry.

The publishers association said, it was of “deep concern” to its members, including Penguin Random House, HarperCollins and Oxford University Press, That it believed “vast amounts of copyright-protected works were being fed by tech businesses into their generative artificial intelligence’s programmers’ without proper authorization.

Elon Musk announced that the first human Neuralink patient had made a full recovery. This study pioneered by Musk’s group that aims to fuse minds with machine began in 2016. It aims to help people who have limited movement access technology through implantation of a chip on their brain. The project gains both criticisms and applauds from the scientific world.

“Progress is good, the patient seems to have made a full recovery, with neural effects that we are aware of”, said by Elon Musk. The said patient was able to move the mouse pointer around the screen by just thinking of that particular action. Musk adds that his company is now trying to get the patient to perform as many mouse clicks as possible.
