Walgreens and CVS, the two largest pharmacy chains in the U.S, will start selling Mifepristone an abortion pill as soon as this month, the companies said in a statement.

According to the The Wall Street Journal, the two pharmacy chains are to dispense the pills, following a regulatory shift last year by the US Food and Drug Administration to allow bricks and mortar pharmacies to offer the pill with a prescription.

Deepfaker’ is a new term used to alter actual footage to accommodate one’s desire to look good online or sound better than in person. Like Sora, a new video model of OpenAI—also the creators of ChatGPT—one can now generate his own AI video. 

“F]ake images, audio, speeches, and clips are cheap and easy to produce…and malign actors could use AI-generated deepfakes to hack and tarnish our political system,” said Hugo Rifkind, in his article in The Times. The media, however, can still fight against, if not stop, the proliferation of AI and new techs that are used with hurtful intentions.

Gunmen attacked worshippers at prayer and killed at least 15 people and injured two others in the village of Essakane in the Catholic Diocese of Dori, in Burkina Faso in what seemed to be a “terrorist attack”.

Information gathered revealed that no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack. According to a church official, the gunmen were suspected to be Islamic militants.

A Hindu nationalist group has sued an Indian zoo for naming two of its lions after a Muslim ruler and a Hindu goddess. The court has requested that the names of the lions be changed.

The North Bengal Wild Animals Park in Siliguri district, West Bengal, is home to these majestic lions. The naming dilemma started when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a right-wing Hindu organization, raised an issue and filed a court petition on 16th Friday to stop the zoo administration from keeping the lions named after “Sita,” the revered Hindu goddess, who is the consort of Lord Rama, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, and the lion named after “Akbar,” the 16th-century Mughal empire over most of the Indian subcontinent.

The European Union has launched a formal investigation into TikTok to determine whether the company is doing enough to protect minors on its platform.

The EU said it would look at whether TikTok is doing enough to address risks on the platform through measures such as age verification tools which are meant to keep minors from seeing inappropriate content.

Il divieto, che si estende anche alla ricreazione, sarebbe motivato dal fatto che gli studenti possano concentrarsi meglio sui propri studi e sull’apprendimento.
