AI draws some bold predictions

The openAI’s demo release of ChatGPT on November 30, 2022 threw the tech industry into a frenzy. Companies like Microsoft and Google have thrown tremendous resources at AI to try to catch up, and venture capital (VC’s) rushing to fund companies doing the same.

Recently, New York Times article says “the boom in AI has even sparked businesses, government agencies and universities to create what has become the hottest new role in corporate America and beyond: the senior executive in charge of AI.”

Forbes news says that “there are some innovations and developments to see AI.”  No one can really figure out what’s coming next from AI, but we can try to take clues from AI’s evolution so far to predict where it’s headed.

Therefore, these are about 11 or more bold predictions laying out how emerging trends in AI developments which are likely to play out in 2024 and beyond.

Some examples are: 1. Personal AI trained on your data becomes the next big thing; 2. AI democratizes data for business users (finally!); 3. Data integration tools are key accelerators for AI; 4. Prepare with this primer on data readiness for generative AI; 5. Governance is the new corporate mantra; 6. AI safety and security remain a key focus for managing reputational risk; 7. Domain-specific, specialized models rule the enterprise; 8.  Open-source models close the gap; 9. AI’s “Wild West” era gets a little tamer as regulation and compliance take hold; 10.Data lakes continue to gain in popularity; 11. Fine-tuning models becomes significantly easier; 12.   Increase the work power to 3½ in a week and many more.

The age of AI is here, no different and that today’s buzz will settle down once they realize they need more advanced technologies and the hope is that with these predictions, one will begin to see where they are  heading, and how profoundly it will alter the course of industry and humanity alike.
